CART SECURITY THAT RENEWS ITSELF
The security keys are renewed automatically, even when the page is cached, and there is protection against refresh loops.
Work / Sikana Tikis
CASE STUDY · E-COMMERCE · DESIGN + DEVELOPMENT
A 100% custom WooCommerce store: no stock template, every screen designed to fit the brand. I took the best ideas from many online stores to make buying easier for the customer.

THE CONTEXT
Sikana is an Argentine brand of hand-made, hand-painted ceramic tiki mugs. It sells online all over the country to retail customers (gifts, cocktails, get-togethers) and to wholesalers (bars and resellers).
THE CHALLENGE
Sikana moved from Tiendanube to WordPress + WooCommerce for more control. But standard WooCommerce did not fit how it sells:
On top of that, buying had to feel as simple as on Tiendanube, or better, especially on mobile.

PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS
THE PROBLEM
The standard side cart was confusing: it did not let people calculate shipping, mixed in English copy and showed totals that did not match what they had chosen.
WHAT I BUILT

THE PROBLEM
Shipping cost is the doubt that stalls the most purchases.
WHAT I BUILT

THE PROBLEM
Selling wholesale without duplicating products or stock, and without mixing wholesale prices into the retail shop.
WHAT I BUILT

THE PROBLEM
The default "order received" page is a cold table. It does not tell people what to do next, which matters most when they pay by bank transfer.
WHAT I BUILT

THE PROBLEM
Many small improvements lived in loose snippets that overrode each other. I merged them into one plugin organised by modules.
WHAT I BUILT

THE PROBLEM
Gift boxes and discount packs are products built by choosing tikis, something standard WooCommerce does not do.
WHAT I BUILT

THE PROBLEM
Packs and boxes were not sending "Add to cart" to Meta, and the server events came with a value of $0.
WHAT I BUILT
UNDER THE HOOD
The security keys are renewed automatically, even when the page is cached, and there is protection against refresh loops.
When the label is generated, the shipping of each Box is calculated as a single parcel, exactly as in checkout. Before, the courier quoted too much.
Each module pauses itself while the old snippet it replaces is still active, so nothing is ever duplicated.
19 scattered snippets became plugins organised by area, with versions and a changelog.
DESIGN DECISIONS
Every module was designed for the phone first, because that is where buying has to feel simplest.
One main button per screen, and outlined buttons for secondary actions.
Shipping, bank-transfer price and instalments are always visible and consistent across the product page, cart, checkout and thank-you page.
Made-to-order lead times are stated up front, and packs say they include one bag per pack, not per tiki.
From 19 loose snippets to plugins organised by area, with versions and a changelog.
